Step 1 Run the phone cable to the Emergency Phone Site
Telephone cable is inexpensive, easy to run, and available from all
and building supply stores. Most local building codes don’t require
conduit enclosure for phone cable (check your codes to be sure).
VIKING Emergency Phones are phone line powered and
do not
require additional power supplies or separate power wiring.
Some state codes specify a distance requirement for pool
emergency phones. Check with your local code authority before
selecting the location for your pool phone. The emergenc
y phone
must be easily accessib
le in the event of an emergency.
Installing a VIKING Emergency
Pool Phone is as easy as 1-2-3
Step 2 Pre-Mount the Phone
Surface mount VIKING Emergency Phones attach directly to a
building wall or fence. Our stainless steel E-30-EWP can be
flush mounted or surface mounted using our VE-5x5 box. The
VE-5x5 can also be mounted on a VE-GNP gooseneck pedestal.
Step 3 Call VIKING for Automated Programming
The recorded announcement will ask you to enter the
number the emergency phone should call when activated.
Most often this should be “911. When you are done
entering the number, hang up. VIKING will call the phone
and program it for you.
Test the phone by pressing the call button.
Make sure you
tell 911 authorities that this is a test call.
Finish mounting the phone.
